The belt-driven engine generator draws its power from a 430-watt-hour battery, which is mounted behind the rear seat. The electric motor supports the V8 at low revs, allowing it to work more efficiently. This means that the same amount of torque (555 Nm) is available over a wider rev range. You?ll notice this, for instance, when you?re pulling heavy loads. This system also ensures that the V8 can drive more often in economy mode (with 4 of the 8 cylinders switched off) and that the changeover of the 8-speed ZF automatic gearbox is extra smooth.
The RamBox option is truly unique! Ram is the only manufacturer that offers this smart solution. The system consists of two spacious storage compartments in the longitudinal direction of the cargo bed. The compartments are about 128 cm long and have a capacity of about 200 litres.

One of the most useful features of the Ram 1500 is undoubtedly its multifunctional tailgate. When folded open downwards as normal, it has a load capacity of 900 kg, just like a traditional tailgate. It can also be opened in another way using additional hinges.?
The tailgate can also be opened in the upright position. In this case, the tailgate, which is split into uneven sections, opens to the side instead of folding downwards, so that it isn?t in the way. This is particularly useful when you have heavy cargo that you want to lift directly into the cargo bed or, for example, if there?s a trailer attached.?
